We go to the library once a week to get the boys new books for the following week. It’s a great little habit that we all thoroughly love.
Well, it had been a long time since we had gone and so the last two weeks we made sure to go. On Saturday we brought home 24 books!! Needless to say, the little guys have had a blast digging through all the books finding theor favorites among the new books. (Quen is going to be sad as we cannot renew his favorite book AGAIN because we have renewed it too many times.)
Last night we told Quen, Samson and George to pick out a few books for us to read (we MIGHT have to define “few” for next time) before bed. They came back with TWELVE! Yep, TWELVE books. So, Captain and I divded and conquered. Despite taking over an hour, all twelve stories got read.
While the boys were putting them back up, Halliburton came in laughing. We asked him what was so funny and he said, “It was like Black Friday down there! The little boys were shoving and pushing and screaming to be able to find the best book in the stack!”
Like I told HB… “I’d much rather them be fighting over books than video games!” Anybody else have kids that recreate Black Friday in order to read their favorite stories?
